Rain breaks for great weekend at VIR!
While the race weekend began with some heavy rain, the weather cleared for two exciting races at the storied VIRginia International Raceway, located in quiet Alton, Virginia. Pocono Sportscar supported three drivers: Roland Veit in his chrome red #16 458 Challenge car, Ken Marlin with his pair of #15 360 Challenge cars, and Rene Zemp with his deep red F355 Challenge car. VIR is a track favored by all of the Challenge Car Racing drivers, with it's organic layout across Virginia's rolling hills. While the track may be difficult to travel to, it is well worth the time!
After a very wet practice day on Friday, Saturday's race #1 saw a fierce battle in all four classes. Below are the winners from Race #1:
355: Rene Zemp 360: Patrick Mullaney 430: Pete Castellana 458: Greg Griffin
Race #2 was again a hotly contested race, ending with all three of Pocono Sportscar's drivers winning the race in their respective classes!
355: Rene Zemp 360: Ken Marlin 430: Alfred Caiola 458: Roland Veit
